[Wireshark-dev] I have some questions with wireshark

I am a Chinese college student.This term my teacher told me to develop a software which could display the working method of main protocol(UDP and TCP) by visualization.
I have some questions:
First,I want to know where to save the caputered data after wireshark capture the data.
Second,I want to know how to realize the synchronization between the data view and the treeview(which can display the data by different layers).I think this may tell me how to locate the specific packet.
So I think I need some help.
