[EnGarde] Perl module and MAKE

Hello all.

I am trying to install a perl module called DB_File that a friend needs for a script he's using.
It appears I need GCC to be able to use the command MAKE.

I installed gcc and all the dependencies needed from the repository of rpm on ftp.engardelinux.org and I am getting a "command not found" when I type "make".

Is there something else I should know about? Is there a simpler way to install a mere 80 ko perl module?
