The only thing you may be able to do is setup a web site using port 80
traffic only. That's not blocked by any ISPs, obviously. You'll even be able
to send mail from the box, like a formmail script or something, as long as
postfix uses your ISP's SMTP server.
Chances are that this is your issue = ISP limitations. If so, find and ISP
that doesn't limit traffic in one way or another. Good luck! Let us know how
you make out.

I would definitely invest in a Cable Router, then you can have a static IP on your box. Then just run a dyndns.org client, or some other Dynamic Name Server...
I use a linksys and it works great.

I have installed Guardian Digital Finestra and I am experiencing dificulties I 'm unable to understand. My Box is running in a network that is provisioned by cable services. I do not have static IP.=20 Now I have two sites (Regular) that I wish to publish, provide dns, and mail services. I have read the manual and have followed the directions as best as I'm able to understand (I'm a newbie)(...with big diapers). 1. How may I setup my box since I only have cable Dynamic IP service?? 2. What changes will need to be done for DNS to work properly?? 3. Will my mail server permit someone using the internet, connect to it and retrieve mail using a regular mail client?? 4. What are the methods of adding content to the site directories?? ( note i was trying to use mind term but it won't let me into the system any more)
I don't have a problem with starting all the way over as long as I can get this done quickly for the kids. Whatever you're able to do to assist me I'm deeply grateful Thanks=20
