Would it be possible to include an IRC server in the packages, such as UnrealIRCD? http://www.unrealircd.com/

DamianS,

We currently have the IRC server package hyperion 1.0.2 built. It is the IRC server used in the Freenode network. Is UnrealIRCd something you would like to have built for any particular reason?

Thanks eric.
Sorry for the late reply, but been away for over a month.

The problem is that hyperion is dead. Indeed, it was just one or two patches added onto an even older IRC app called dancer.

Out of all the others, it does seem to me that Unrealircd (http://www.unrealircd.com/) is the most-comprehensive open source IRCd which is still being actively developed, and has a reasonable pool of developers.

DamianS,

Hyperion is currently the only one that is packaged for EnGarde. However, you could package unrealircd if you would like. It shouldn't be an issue.
